Hopewell Mound Group Highlights is an opportunity for visitors to pick their path and engage with Park Rangers at several key locations within the Park’s largest earthwork. Park Rangers will be stationed at several stops to help visitors take a deeper dive into the stories of this amazing site. Enjoy time outdoors with your friends and family at a location that was the center of community and gathering 2,000 years ago.
This event begins near the trail head at Hopewell Mound Group, 4731 Sulphur Lick Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601. Visitors will park and walk to the stations located throughout the earthwork. This event is free and registration is not required. Hopewell Mound Group is a very large site with minimal shade and unpaved, uneven terrain. Visitors are encouraged to bring water, wear sturdy shoes and a hat, and use sunscreen.
