Hope or Hype? How AI is Transforming the Fashion Industry

SPONSORED BY LONDON MET JOURNALISM

Artificial intelligence is revolutionising the fashion industry, influencing everything from design and trend forecasting to supply chains and personalized shopping experiences. With AI-driven tools streamlining production, reducing waste, and enabling hyper-personalized marketing, many see it as a force for innovation and sustainability. However, others warn of job displacement, ethical concerns, and the risk of creativity being replaced by algorithms.

This in-person panel discussion will be held at London Metropolitan University, where experts from fashion, technology and business will come together to discuss whether AI is truly transforming the industry for the better or if it’s simply the latest hype.

Our panel will include:

  • Matthew Blakemore, AI strategist
  • Daniel Felstead, experiential designer and educator
  • Jennifer Anyan, artist, creative director and fashion studies scholar
  • Muhammad Naser, business consultant and lecturer
  • Giovanni Bordone, fashion business lecturer at LondonMet

The event will take place in the Great Hall. A student catwalk featuring outfits inspired by AI will conclude the event.
