Join Rainbow Collective for Change, LGBTQ Center of Durham, A Great Idea, and so many more community partners for "Hope is a Song - A Community Gathering on MLK Day" on Monday, January 20th from 10:30am-12:30pm at Durham Central Park.
We'll come together as a community of families and friends to celebrate Black and LGBTQIA+ elders and DREAM together for a better future. We'll share stories and participate in artivism together. We'll provide food and coffee, children's books celebrating Black and LGBTQIA+ leaders for families to take home, and care packages for trans youth. Community partners will join us to provide opportunities for joy, care, and action.

As a community, we are navigating an essential need to lift up Martin Luther King Jr's life, legacy, and teachings while also paying attention to the shift in US leadership that is taking place on January 20th. We encourage everyone to pay attention to what is said at the inauguration and what happens in the days following, so we can work together to cultivate and protect justice.
