Hope and Ashes - Do you have what it takes to survive the apocalypse?
About this Event
The earth had several months warning that the interstellar object designated as 4I/Acantha was on a collision course with Earth. It was also under power as it was slowing down. Worldwide riots ensued as people contemplated what most likely would be an alien invasion.
4I/Acantha slipped close to the Earth is the spring of ’26 but broke apart before it collided. The last news broadcasts before the airwaves went dead suggested the largest fragment of the object landed somewhere in the Gobi Desert the tail end of it in Texas. Tidal waves and hurricanes wracked the world, causing mass death, but not quite human extinction.
In a Britain washed by tsunami and battered by hurricanes a few survived and emerged into a world of darkened skies and desolation.
This is an in-person multi-player, co-operative MegaGame run using the same base format that we use for NATO training games. Players take on the role of the leader of a small group of survivors and will explore a devastated world and a perilous existence. Core game features are map exploration, discovery, rebuilding attempts and resource trading with a little bit of abstracted combat. It is more of a strategy game than a tactical game and more of a building game than a fighting game.
Hope and Ashes is designed and developed by the team at Brunel University.
