It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we lost Mark Weinstein to a fast and fierce 17-day battle with kidney cancer. At his life celebration, we honored his core belief—“No one should go hungry”—by supporting ECHO Food Shelf.
In August 2020, his sons Steve Neitge and David Weinstein were trying to figure out a way to get some hockey going again. Steve came up with the idea to throw a hockey tournament to benefit the ECHO Foodshelf. Along came a team of friends from their 35 years of area hockey connections, and the inaugural ECHO Hockey Spectacular Tournament was launched at the All Seasons Arena. Over six years, the Spectacular has now raised over $185,ooo to support understanding of food insecurity and ending hunger in the South Central area.
Now, we’re back with a bigger dream: Hoo’s Hungry, a one-night reunion and fundraiser, marking 15 years since the last Lost Chord Reunion and 10 years without Mark. Our goal? $40,000—and the Andreas Foundation will match every dollar.
We are thrilled to have you join our Hoo’s Hungry edition of the Lost Chord Reunion and look forward to an evening filled with music that celebrates the legacy of the Lost Chord.
