Hooray for Hopewell History at City Point

In partnership with the City of Hopewell Petersburg National Battlefield is participating in the Hooray for Hopewell History Event. Visit Grant's Headquarters at City Point on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Visit the Eppe's family plantation home/the visitor center and tour General Grant's Cabin with extended hours until 6:00 p.m. Stop by one of the partner booths outside and learn more about general Civil War history at the park's education trailer. In the evening the Chesterfield Concert Band will be playing on the front lawn. The grounds will be open until 10:00 p.m. for fireworks viewing.
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Appomattox Manor/Visitor Center programs and tours of General Grant's cabin.
12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Booths and activities on lawn. (Fort Lee Museums, Historic Hopewell Foundation, Petersburg Battlefield Foundation)
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Chesterfield Concert Band on front lawn.
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. | Grounds open for sunset and fireworks viewing.
