Hooks & Books: A Crochet + Audiobook Club

Hooks & Books is a crochet and audiobook club designed for hookers—crocheters—of all skill levels. It’s a space to create, listen, learn, and connect, bringing together the tactile joy of crochet with the immersive experience of a great story.

Whether you are picking up a crochet hook for the first time, learning a new stitch, or bringing along a beloved project, Hooks & Books invites everyone to pull up a chair and create at their own pace.

Hookers will leave with more than a new stitch. You may leave with a completed project, a new creative skill, a few new friends, and—most importantly—a considerably longer TBR (To Be Read) list.

What to Expect:

Each session will combine hands-on instruction, independent practice time that allows for active audiobook listening and lively conversation to close out the day.

Supplies & Project Materials:

Kindred Thoughts will provide the crochet supplies and project materials needed for the featured project at each session. This includes hooks, yarn, and any additional materials required to complete that day’s project.

Participants are welcome to bring their own hooks and yarn if they have preferred supplies they’d like to use.

Participants who have their own projects are welcome to join us and work independently. Those working on their own project should bring your own materials.

The Two-Hour Experience:

12:00–12:30 PM | Learn the Stitch

A 30-minute beginner-friendly lesson introducing the featured technique and project.

12:30–1:30 PM | Hook & Listen

An hour of independent crocheting while enjoying selections from an audiobook. Participants may work on the featured project or continue their own WIP.

1:30–2:00 PM | Hook, Talk & Share

A relaxed discussion about what we’re listening to and reading, along with an opportunity to show off finished projects, ask questions, and share crochet discoveries.
