About this Event

The Hoodoo Heritage Festival returns to Nashville on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for a full day of education, culture, music, art, community, and ancestral remembrance.

Founded in 2022, the Hoodoo Heritage Festival was created to provide a space in Tennessee where Black Southern spiritual traditions could be honored, preserved, and celebrated by the community they come from. Hoodoo is more than spells and spiritual products, it is a living tradition shaped by the survival, creativity, faith, resistance, and ancestral knowledge of Black Americans.

This year’s festival will feature:

• Educational workshops and community discussions
• Conversations exploring Hoodoo history and African American folklore
• Hoodoo and the Blues programming inspired by the cultural themes of Sinners
• Herbal, spiritual, and ancestral traditions
• Live music, dance, poetry, and cultural performances
• A curated marketplace of artists, authors, makers, and spiritual vendors
• Community altar and ritual installations
• Food, fellowship, and opportunities to connect with practitioners, educators, and culture bearers

Whether you are deeply rooted in the tradition, beginning to learn about your heritage, or coming to support Black cultural preservation, the Hoodoo Heritage Festival offers an opportunity to learn, celebrate, and reconnect.

This is a culturally specific event centered on Hoodoo as an African American spiritual tradition created and preserved by the descendants of enslaved Black people in the United States. Guests are expected to enter the space with respect for the community, its elders, its ancestors, and the closed nature of the tradition.

Come spend the day honoring the roots, celebrating the culture, and helping preserve Hoodoo for future generations.
