About this Event

Join us to Honor the Washington Accords – End Kagame’s Dictatorship

This Peaceful March will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Washington, DC. Starting at Freedom Plaza and marching to Lafayette Square (in front of the White House). This important event brings together Rwandans in the diaspora, opposition leaders, human rights advocates, and allies to demand the full implementation of the Washington Accords and an end to Paul Kagame’s authoritarian regime. Congolese and all brothers and sisters from the Great Lakes Region are very welcome.

Just weeks after the suspicious killing of political prisoner Aimable Karasira, we stand united against political killings, repression, regional destabilization, and 32 years of dictatorship. This is a peaceful call for genuine democracy, freedom, and accountability in Rwanda. Registration is required — please reserve your free ticket now to participate.

IMPORTANT: To participate in this event, please reserve your free ticket on Eventbrite.
A valid ticket is required for entry and participation. Get your ticket now to secure your spot.

Artist Badrama Speaks:
I’ve been in Rwanda’s creative industry for years. I invested my own money, my time, and my belief in it. So hearing @PaulKagame stand on stage pretending to champion African creatives is pure political theater.

I sacrificed my name in the music industry. I am here to EXPOSE the blood on Kagame’s hands! This regime does not support artists. It fears influence it cannot control.

ARTIST KILLED BY THIS REGIME
Countless but to name a few:
#KizitoMihigo was celebrated until he challenged the regime, then imprisoned and found dead.
#JayPolly was jailed and died in custody. Aimable Karasira was imprisoned for speaking openly.
#BahatiInnocent disappeared after releasing music about Rwanda’s reality. Journalists are jailed, exiled, threatened, or silenced for doing their jobs.
#AlexiaUweraMupende, another symbol of how vulnerable public cultural figures become in a system built on fear and silence.
#AimableKarasira, from imprisoned to death just for expressing dissenting views and criticizing the regime.
A government cannot market “creative growth” abroad while crushing every independent voice at home.
@bkarenarw can host global stars for PR, but what happens when a Rwandan artist becomes too popular, too outspoken, too independent? They become targets.
The Kagame regime doesn’t build culture. It weaponizes it. It rewards loyalty, punishes dissent, and treats fame outside FPR control as a political threat.
