Make a Bee Watering Station for thirsty bees! A hands-on family workshop full of buzz and sweetness.
About this Event

1.5 Hour Hands-On Workshop

In this interactive, hands-on workshop, participants will create their very own Bee Watering Station—a colourful, bee-friendly water source that can help thirsty pollinators stay hydrated during warm weather.

Together we’ll explore:

🐝 Why bees need water and how they use it in the hive
💧 How honey bees collect and use water to keep their colony healthy
🌸 Why clean, safe water sources are important for pollinators
🌎 How small actions can create pollinator-friendly spaces in our own yards and communities

Participants will paint and decorate a terracotta pot, then transform it into a simple bee watering station. We’ll talk about how to create a safe water source for bees by providing shallow water and landing spots, helping prevent bees from accidentally drowning.

We’ll also discuss:

🐝 The difference between honey bees and native bees
💦 Where bees find water in nature
🌱 How to create a safe and welcoming habitat for pollinators
🏡 Simple ways families can support bees and other pollinators at home

Each participant will leave with their hand-painted bee watering station and the knowledge to set it up safely at home, giving thirsty bees a place to drink, rest, and recharge.

This program is best suited for kiddos ages 3–7. Children must attend with an adult. Adults do not need to pay.
