Hometown Open Mic presents Grand Rising, featuring local artist Mykal Anthony, on Friday, January 2nd from 7:00–10:00 PM. This First Friday open mic is a space for poets, rappers, singers, musicians, writers, and creators of all kinds to share their voice in a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere. What makes this night special is the feature: Mykal Anthony is one of our own, representing Kingsland and Camden County, Georgia. For over 10 years, he has been independently building his sound, working in silence, and steadily crafting a respectable and authentic music catalog. While Hometown Open Mic often brings in featured artists from Jacksonville, this event celebrates the power of homegrown talent and the dedication it takes to stay consistent over time. Grand Rising is about honoring growth, perseverance, and the voices rising from within our own hometown—setting the tone for a strong and inspired new year.
