About this Event
Cast iron cookware takes us back to the mid-1800s through the early 1900s in American History. During this time, cast iron was a major industry. It was used in wood-burning stoves, radiators, bridges, and more.
Cast iron cookware is very durable and can last forever with care. These sturdy items also make great vintage gifts to pass to children and grandchildren. In part one of the cast iron cookware series, we will focus on restoring cast iron cookware. Participants will select from an assortment of cast iron cookware that requires restoration. A kit containing items that will be useful in the restoration process is included. Cast iron cookware will be limited to one item per family. Participants will learn how to restore their cast iron cookware. This will be challenging and fun as we compare the cookware before and after!
This class is limited. Participants must register for Part One and Part Two of the Homesteading Basics: Cast Iron Cookware series. *If registering more than one person in the same household, please contact Cheri Bennett at 910-997-8255 for instructions before registering.
