We all need a shelter to keep us safe. Visit the barn and find out how shelters for farm animals as well as people were constructed before the age of power tools. Try your hand with a crosscut saw or construct a small section of a timber frame barn.
Step back in time at CNC's log cabin, timber frame barn and one-room school for a family-friendly afternoon at the Homestead Farm and Log Schoolhouse. Weekly themed activities will be available throughout the afternoon. You may get to try your hand at grinding corn, pumping water, writing on a slate board, working in the garden, tilling the field or watering the animals.
The Homestead and Schoolhouse will be open Sundays in June, July and August. Find full details at www.chippewanaturecenter.org/homestead-sundays
