You’re Invited: Homestead Gardens Groundbreaking

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming groundbreaking of Homestead Gardens.

Date: TBD. The event is being postponed due to inclement weather.

Time: 1:00PM-2:30PM

Location: Church of the Advocate, 8410 Merin Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Parking: Continue down Merin Road past the Church and past the tiny homes to a gravel parking lot on the right-hand side. Natural surface walking paths will take you back to the Church. If you need accessible parking, you may park in the smaller lot immediately in front of the church.

Homestead Gardens is an ambitious collaboration that has been in the works for over 6 years, and we are thrilled to finally be breaking ground on this valuable housing project for our community.

About Homestead Gardens:

Homestead Gardens is a unique collaboration between four nonprofit affordable housing partners — Self-Help Ventures Fund, CASA, Community Home Trust, and Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC — along with the Town of Chapel Hill to provide a one-of-a-kind, 100% affordable residential community in Chapel Hill, NC. The project includes 87 units in a mix of supportive housing apartments, and townhomes that provide opportunities for rental and homeownership in a variety of sizes, serving incomes from below 30% of Area Median Income up to 115% of Area Median Income.

The Homestead Gardens development will provide a variety of amenities for its residents, including a greenway trail, basketball court, natural surface trails, a playground, gazebo, and community room open for use by all residents.
