Homeschoolers - Come Create a LEGO Construction Piñata Cake!

Not sure how you can out-do the fun of building and decorating a cake with a LEGO construction set on top of it, but you really can when you make it a PIÑATA cake that SPILLS out whatever you have hidden inside of it when cut into!
Come join us as we build and decorate a construction themed piñata cake! Students will begin the class with LEGO themed molds, making chocolate minifigures and LEGO blocks for their cake.
Then, they will measure and mix ingredients to make chocolate buttercream, or, vanilla buttercream to dye.
Lastly, they will build their piñata cake, hide candies inside, and finish icing the cake in order to finally decorate with all of their real, and edible, LEGO blocks!
Where: Menard Center Commercial Kitchen in Wasilla (behind the green turf)
When: Friday, September 25, 11:00-1:15pm OR Monday, September 28th, 11am-1:15pm
Suggested Age: Any age student can successfully create this!
Cost: $110 – Direct bill vendor for Matsu Central, Twindly Bridge, IDEA, Raven, Cyberlynx, and FOCUS!
This class can be tied to Math, Art, Home Ec and Life Skills!

What will I learn?!
• How to use molds to create chocolate figures
• How to measure and mix buttercream frosting
• Steps for building/frosting a 6-inch layered piñata cake
• How to ‘tell a story’ with a LEGO set on a cake
What do I take home after the class?!
• You take home your cool cake and the LEGO set!
• Take home the round cookie/cake cutter used in class
• Take home a packet with guided instructions on how to make a piñata cake again!
