Homer Burning Basket 2026. SMILE - Basket of Remembrance & Unburdening.
A SMILE is the shortest distance between strangers becoming community.
A community interactive impermanent art experience. Join in the creating of a large sculpture of an intricately woven basket.
Build week Sept. 6-12, 12-5pm daily. Come help, YOU are needed and appreciated.
Then Sept 13, the basket is a gift for all to be part of the art by decorating it in Remembrance of dearly departed, Personal sentiments of Unburdening can be tucked inside.
At Sundown the basket will be ignited to symbolically disperse our collective positive intentions.
Drumming (bring your drum) and Fire spinning (all fire spinners are welcome).
Come be part of the art.
Letting go of what was - Accepting what is - Getting ready for what will be.
