Homecoming: For The Harbor
About this Event
Join LMCC, The New York Climate Exchange, Stony Brook University, and hundreds of New Yorkers on Governors Island for Homecoming: For the Harbor!
Together with NYC public officials, artists, musicians, and more, we’ll wrap up and cheer for our city’s waterways with the full spirit of a Pep Rally— marching band, cheerleaders, a parade, art-making workshops, plus climate scientists and environmental advocates.
- Visit the Climate-Action Tailgate Fair! Featuring tables from environmental organizations and creative activities to educate and entertain children and adults alike. Doors open at 10:30am.
- Be part of the Pep Rally Parade! Come dressed in your best NY Harbor costume and be part of our people's parade. Join Grand Marshal Deputy Mayor of New York City for Economic Justice Julie Su, the 50+ member Grand Street Campus Marching Band, Stony Brook University mascot Wolfie the Seawolf, and more! The parade starts at the 1:00pm.
- Everyone’s invited to the “Postgame” Party! The afternoon will culminate with food and fun outside of LMCC’s Arts Center at Governors Island.
Homecoming invites us to combine climate action with pom-poms—proof that hope is overflowing and the water that connects our cities, our communities, deserves a cheering section! Bring your friends, bring your family, and catch the ferry!
