The laughter is coming to Binghamton when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the Airport Inn Bar and Grill on Tuesday, June 25. Patrick Holbert is headlining the show and RJ Purpura is joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7 p.m., but get there early to get some drinks. It's a free show, so tip the staff super well. Seating begins at 6 p.m.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
Originally from Rochester, RJ Purpura has been writing and performing comedy for many years and has had the privilege of working with comedians such as Dave Attell, Doug Stanhope, Big Jay Oakerson, Gilbert Gottfriend and Dan Soder. Purpura’s rapid-fire witticisms cover a wide variety of topics, all with an (un)healthy dose of self-deprecation, that lead to him being named the 2017 Funniest Person in Rochester. Purpura has performed all over upstate New York, in New York City, at the Finger Lakes Comedy Festival and the Rochester Fringe Festival.
Patrick Holbert has been making his living in NYC since 2003. A scene regular, you can find him in the city’s hottest comedy rooms every night. He has performed on Sirius XM and hosts the internationally syndicated TV show “The Movie Loft.” He has appeared on TruTV’s “Hack My Life” and "Mysteries at the Museum" on the Travel Channel. Patrick is often asked to emcee comedy shows because of his playful wit and affability. The New York Times recently called him the "charming M.C." of the children's variety show he performs in weekly. You can also catch him online co-hosting “The Comic’s Table” podcast.
