So without further ado, this month’s theme is: Peak summer harvest (Likely dairy, soy, gluten)

HELLO REBRAND! During the course of describing how these events worked, I somehow stumbled upon the pairing of Home + Omakase = Homeakase, and we are going to stick with that now because it’s catchy as hell. Also, we will be moving in August, so this will be our last Berkeley-based event as we shift to a new location. There might be a slight hiatus on these events as we get resettled, but rest assured, WE WILL BE BACK. To commemorate our last event in Berkeley, we are making one last menu that features the bounty of peak summer combined with some dishes that will make you feel like you just stepped out on vacation into your (probably imaginary) SUMMER HOME. We might forage a little bit, pickle some fun stuff, get more salmon, but you can bet that it will truly be PEAK.

In case you need context: Homeakase is a series I run out of my house where I cook, no holds barred, 3-4 COURSES OF EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO at that point in time. This could be new recipes I am testing, food I ate at a restaurant that I really liked, or dishes with ingredients I don’t normally buy, but the point is you will not know until you sit down. There will be only a vague theme announced each month and I will not make any substitutions or additional dietary accommodations (besides what the theme calls for). As a cook, this is the event where I would really like to showcase my skills with some live cooking narration, intimate personal chatter, and experimentation. I invite guests to simply help cover the cost of ingredients, give lots of critical feedback, BYOB, and spend some connecting with myself and each other. You may hate the food, love it, the tastes might be eclectic, but you will leave full no matter what, promise!
