Coming home to your beating heart and breathing body. This is an invitation to come together and practice a compassionate and embodied approach to being and belonging to ourselves and this world. We will practice how to ground our presence in our bodies, nourish our hearts and access our internal wisdom.
With gentle guidance we’ll explore compassionate and somatic resources for:
– Being at home with yourself, no matter what.
– Resilience and strength from compassion and an embodied approach.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Learn more about selfcompassion, what it is and how you can apply it to your daily life.
- Tap into your body’s wisdom and self regulation and recovery system.
- A space to be held together in practice
- Dance, soamtic's, yoga and mindfulness, voice and sharing.
SELFCOMPASSION means that we practice being our own inner support in the same way that we are motivated to support others we care about. By cultivating the care and ability to be with ourselves, especially when we need it most, our access to inner support and belonging, resilience, and recovery increases. When we integrate selfcompassion from bodily and sensory perspectives, we create the conditions to get in touch with our calm and self-regulation system and integrate the conditions for recovery and resilience.
MINDFULNESS is to be aware of what is going on inside the moment and to cultivate the ability to observe without judging. When we practice mindfulness we cultivate an ability to be with what is and step out of our automatic reactions and invite more compassionate responses.
SOMATIC’S & INTEROCEPTION Somatic Movement is a field within bodywork and movement studies aimed at experiencing and feeling movement from within the body. Developing our connection to our bodies and our felt sense is called interoception and is closely linked to how we manage and respond to stress, prevent exhaustion and overwhelm. This course integrates sensory modulation; and how we practically through our senses can create soothing or alerting compassion-practises for ourselves.
BEING IN COMMUNITY This course is a group journey, where we get strength and support from our shared humanity. Home in my Body intend to create space for everyone to be where they are.
CONTENTS somatic selfcompassion®, somatics and interoception, sensory modulation, conscious dance, soft and undemanding yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, mindfulness and metta bhavana, loving kindness inspired practices.
TRAUMA SENSITIVE The course is trauma-sensitive and provides the opportunity to step out and in from exercises, provides room for adjustment and alternative ways of doing an exercise, methodology with room for reflection and integration.
