Come celebrate with us at our open garden, tabling event, and fall plant sale! Fall is the best time of year to purchase native plants because the start of California’s rainy season is the ideal time to add new plants to the garden. Planting with the first rains gives roots the cool, wet winter months to settle in and become established before the warmer, drier seasons arrive. Shop special sales on habitat plants, wildflower seeds, and more - give your garden a strong start for the year ahead.

Home Ground Habitats is a native plant nursery, demonstration garden, and education center located in Indian Valley, Novato, CA. As a community-centered organization, we focus on environmental education, California native plant propagation, and ethical land stewardship on nearly one acre of land. The demonstration gardens at Home Ground showcase a sustainable, organic approach to creating a truly California-friendly landscape using native plants and drought-tolerant Mediterranean species to increase biodiversity. We have native plant experts who can help anyone find the right plants to create a wildlife habitat garden in their own backyard. Our mission is to bring the natural world, pollinators, and wildlife to a landscape that also provides sustenance for humans.

As we celebrate the shifting of the season, our tabling event will offer information and educational resources about bringing biodiversity into your garden, supporting wildlife, creating beauitful pollinator habitats, and protecting the land around us.
