The Joe Gransden Band is quickly becoming one of the busiest groups on the jazz scene. Initially formed in 2009, Joe and the guys have continued building momentum and are performing numerous shows nationwide. Joe and his band have a legion of fans, including Smokey Robinson, who shares that “Joe has an innate ability to connect with an audience. His singing and trumpet playing are world-class!" Joe Gransden has performed worldwide and released 14 CDs under his name. Renowned first for the hard bop approach of his trumpet, Gransden’s singing voice has been compared to that of Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra. He performs regularly at the Blue Note in New York City and other major cities worldwide.
Sugar Hill’s Broad St. Jazz Band will open Joe’s band and perform an exciting range of jazz and swing selections. Last year, Broad St Jazz’s Home for the Holiday’s rendition of Duke Ellington’s The Nutcracker Suite was an audience favorite!
