An opportunity for children to meet different Victorians in an informal setting, at St Johns House
About this Event

An informal, drop in, morning to discover more about the lives of Victorian people.

  • Our school Marm will in the classroom to show you around and explain what a Victorian child’s school day was like.
  • Have a go at some of the activities Victorian school children used to do, such as writing with dip and ink pens and observational drawing and painting.
  • The cook will be in the kitchen making butter for Queen Victoria’s jubilee party at Warwick Castle. Come and have a go yourself.
  • Mrs Mayes, the Laundry Maid, will be waiting upstairs to tell you about the difference between her two up two down home and a four-storey town house.
  • Play outside with some traditional toys and games from the Victorian Playground.

Children aged 5 and over require a paid ticket. Please also book a free ticket for adults and non participating children so we know how many people to expect on site.
