Home Defense

Protecting your home starts long before an emergency happens. This course is designed to help you better understand the vulnerabilities within your home, the legal considerations surrounding self-defense in Maryland, and the principles of creating a safer, more defensible environment.
Students will learn how to conduct a vulnerability assessment of their own home, identify potential security concerns, and develop a stronger understanding of home defense planning and preparedness.
The course will also cover Maryland laws as they relate to self-defense within the home, helping students better understand the legal considerations surrounding the protection of themselves and their families.
The practical portion of the course introduces movement within a structure, including footwork, positioning, the geometry of rooms and hallways, and understanding how different angles affect visibility and exposure.
