Join Rural Action to learn how to build a backyard compost bin through our demonstration class! Rural Action's Zero Waste program invites you to join our free compost bin building demonstration course to help teach folks how to build your own back yard compost pile, teach best practices for backyard composting, and encourage organics waste diversion from the landfill!

Learn from Rural Action's Zero Waste Community Education Americorps member, Sid McCarty, and team on diffrent styles of outdoor compost bins, ideal carbon/ nitrogen ratios, compost pile warning signs, strategies to limit pests, the benefits to composting food waste at home, and resources to assist you to build your own at home compost bin!

Due to limited space in the community makerspace woodshop, this course will be a demonstration for building an compost pile encolsure, participants can help in the assembly of the outdoor bin, but this course will not be a make and take program.

*** All attendees will be put into a drawing for a prize at the end of the demonstration !
