Get ready to dive into the world of creative portraits with our hands-on Hollywood workshop! This in-person event is your chance to learn fresh techniques, experiment with lighting, and capture stunning shots. Whether you're a beginner or just looking to up your game, join us for a fun, relaxed day full of inspiration and creativity. Don’t miss out on making your portraits truly pop!

You will learn 3 point lighting techniques as pioneered by George Hurrell. Learn the different qualities of various studio lights and how to sculpt light with modifiers, flags and reflectors. A great skill set to add some marvellous images to your folios.

This is a full-day course with an educational focus: as well as being a fun and sociable day, you’ll produce some amazing images and have some new skills in your toolkit!

Info: An introduction in to how we use strobe lighting to create striking portraits. During this section you will also set up your cameras ready for the days shooting. If you use a mirrorless camera please make sure you have exposure preview facilities turned off. [ BUT we will deal with this on the day !!]

Info: We will be joined by are first model and we will use variations of the first light set up with them. You will all have plenty of 121 time with the model and your images will be constantly appraised by me while I advise you one how to improve and work towards your final finished shots. I take great care in organising a diverse range of sitters for these workshops. Each sitter gives their time in exchange for some of your final images from the day for them to use as they see fit. They are usually drawn from creative fields, and we have artists, musicians, writers and the occasional model join us to make these events as creative as possible. You will also be encouraged to assist in each other creative process throughout the day, ensuring everyone gets plenty of hands on experience!

Info: We will be joined by our second model and I will demonstrate a completely new lighting set up. You will all have 121 time the the sitter and be encourage to adjust the lighting to suit your own creative goals. Full technical support will be given throughout. During this time you will be encourage to take a 30 minute break for lunch. We rotate lunch to allow even more time with the modes attending on the day!

Info: We will be joined by our final model and this time you will be encouraged to apply what you have learnt and take the lead in making your images. This last session is also an ideal time to have any ideas of your own facilitated by me as best as time allows. By the end of the day you should have some terrific folio and web content! I also offer editing sessions if you would like expert tuition on how to get the most out of what you have shot!
