Pregnancy is often considered a rite of passage, a deeply transformational experience for the woman (or pregnant person). As health care providers we are honoured to accompany our patients on this journey.
In this course, you will gain a solid grasp of the physical adaptations and effective osteopathic treatments for pregnancy. But beyond the anatomical aspects, this course beckons you to broaden your perspective. Be prepared to delve deeper, examining the biopsychosocial factors influencing each patient's experience allowing you to provide holistic and compassionate support for your patients.
You will learn how to effectively assess and treat patients throughout their pregnancy. Topics include pelvic girdle pain, hEDS, red flags and common pregnancy complaints. Furthermore biopsychosocial factors are covered including an understanding of the maternity care system in Australia and loss in pregnancy.
