Bee there or be square!
Join us for a Holiday Tree Beehive Hair Workshop that’s gonna be a gas (that’s ’60s slang for a real good time) – where you’ll transform an ordinary wig into an extraordinary Christmas tree-themed beehive hairdo that you can wear to your own holiday parties and don for the Beehive Hair Day in Downtown on December 6th. Tease it high, decorate it fab, and rock around the Christmas tree (on your head)! We’re talking big hair, big fun, and big holiday spirit all rolled into one far-out afternoon event. The beehive hairdo was hugely popular in the 1960s and remains an enduring symbol of ’60s kitsch, and women would decorate their “’do” as Christmas trees for the holidays.
What to Expect at this Groovy Workshop
• All Materials Included: Your ticket ($50) includes a beehive wig for you to decorate. We’ll have piles of festive decorations to choose from: think sparkly tinsel, mini ornaments, faux holly, ribbons, lights, and a shiny star for the top of your “tree.” Your mission: turn that wig into a one-of-a-kind 1960s-style beehive creation that you can then wear to the Holiday Tree Beehive Hair Party on Saturday, December 6 in Downtown EC.
• Hands-On Hairdo Guidance: Never built a beehive before? No sweat, cool cats! Our hosts, Deborah Malenfant and Janne Mills, will be there to show you how to construct and secure your beehive ’do. From stuffing and shaping the wig to expertly placing decorations, they’ll share tips and tricks to make sure your holiday beehive is stable, fabulous, and outta sight.
• Tasty Bites & Sips: Snack on some finger foods and enjoy water or sweet tea (a Southern staple) as you work. You’ll also get two drink tickets good for beer, wine, or mimosas. The bar will be open if you want to purchase mixed bevs or additional drinks. So sip that bubbly, mingle with your fellow beehive buddies, and let the creative juices flow.
