Holi Festival Celebration in Mathura-Vrindavan IndiaThe celebration of Holi indicates the destruction of evil and a hope of good. It is basically a spring religious festival predominantly expressed by Hindus and Sikhs after the full moon in the month of March and thus illuminates excellent fertility of land and spring harvest. It is also an event that introduces striking colors, exemplary jollity and hysteria along with complete madness created by maniac dance tunes.
The festival of Holi is a true manifestation of dawn, light, life and a surge of energy. There are many attention-grabbing mythological legends associated with its celebration. Holika Dahan is one of it and the most popular as well which is celeberated as Chhoti Holi to memorize the triumph of good over bad.
Normally, the festival lasts for about two or five days but at few places it also continues for sixteen days. On Chhoti Holi, bonfires are lit and Holika is offered flowers and coconuts but on the next day of the big fest Holi ( Dhuli Vandana) , is celeberated with near and dear ones including friends and family.
