RE: Non-School Uniform Day – Holi Colour Run
We are very excited to announce our 2nd Holi Colour Run after the successful event, which took place last March!
To mark the celebration of Holi, we will be holding a non-school uniform day on Monday 10th March. Holi is a popular and significant Hindu festival, known as the Festival of Colours, which celebrates the arrival of spring, love and new life. On this festive day, many Hindus traditionally celebrate the event by taking to the streets, meeting and greeting one another, and playing with coloured powdered paint.
Children will be encouraged to wear their brightest and boldest colours to school and we kindly ask that children make a donation of £1. Parents, carers and the wider school community are then invited to join us on the school field (from 3:30pm – 4pm) where the Colour Run will take place. There will be an additional £1 entry fee (cash only), for any children or adults taking part in the run.
We would advise children to:
• Bring an old, plain t-shirt/bottoms to wear so this can be removed or disregarded after the colour run
• Tie hair up where possible
• Leave coats and belongings in the school hall so that they do not get covered in paint
• Bring a plastic or disposable bag to store wet items
• Bring sunglasses to avoid powdered paint from irritating their eyes
