About this Event
Families and community members often deal with stress, conflict, and trauma that can make conversations feel overwhelming — especially with adult family members, children, teens, and young adults. When emotions run high, communication can break down, people can get triggered, and relationships can suffer.
This workshop teaches practical, easy-to-use tools that help community members to:· Stay calm during difficult conversations
· Recognize when someone is getting overwhelmed
· Create safety for kids, teens, and adults
· Talk about hard things without causing more harm
· Support loved ones who are dealing with trauma, anger, or hurt
· Build connection even when there’s disagreement or stress
The training is open, hands-on, and respectful of lived realities. It does not require prior training—just a willingness to learn and practice.
*Please note this session is free to Kalamazoo City residents and organizations. Please inquire about out of city rates.
