Hold Onto Summer: Grow Your Own Dried Botanicals
About this Event
Hold onto summer a little longer.
Join Elinor and Leonie from House of Yves at Gathering Ground for a half-day workshop exploring the beautiful possibilities of growing, drying and preserving your own flowers.
We’ll look at low-input, low-maintenance ways to grow botanicals here in Scotland. Exploring which flowers and plants to choose, how to grow and harvest them, and the different ways they can be preserved to create dried bouquets, wreaths and botanical displays that last well beyond summer.
You’ll then use a selection of dried flowers and plant materials to create your own autumnal wreath to take home.
-
Weather permitting, we’ll finish in the Gathering Ground garden with a practical bulb-planting session. Putting what we’ve learned into practice while creating something that will continue to grow and provide flowers in seasons to come.
