History Will Be Made: Community Invited to Gather Around the World’s Largest Dining Table for FUNraising Event
A uniquely local, record‑setting, and purpose‑driven experience is coming to Chatham-Kent this spring. On Saturday, April 11, the community is invited to take part in History Will Be Made—a celebration of agriculture, sustainability, community spirit, and generosity—as 314 guests gather around what is anticipated to be the World’s Largest Dining Table, set inside the historic Chatham Armouries.
Small family farms have deep roots in our community; roots that weave through schools and businesses throughout Chatham Kent. Spring time on any farm is filled with hope; hope that whatever seeds you plant take root. That same spirit of optimism inspired a vision for a gathering where like‑minded people could come together to share ideas, enjoy great food, and raise funds for a meaningful cause.
‘This is absolutely a collaborative effort,’ says event organizer Brad Campbell. ‘I am thrilled to help out, bringing family, friends, and like‑minded people together. And I cannot think of a better reason than to help kids through Noelle’s Gift.’”
A central feature of the evening is designed to highlight the “grow your own” and “self-sustainable” opportunities that exist for individuals and families across Chatham-Kent. Throughout the event, guests will have the opportunity to mingle and have conversations focused on sustainable farming practices, micro‑farming innovations, local food production, and community‑driven agricultural ideas. The goal is to create an atmosphere where learning and local pride blend seamlessly with entertainment and fun, offering guests a fresh perspective on the ways agriculture continues to shape and support the region.
Doors to the Armouries will open at 3:00 PM, offering guests time to connect, explore, and immerse themselves in the agri‑tourism experience before enjoying a delicious pasta buffet at 5:00 PM. The meal will be catered by Club Lentina’s Catering, well known for their exceptional cuisine and longstanding reputation for elevating community events with thoughtfully crafted dishes featuring local flavours.
The evening will continue with a FUNraising segment and live and silent auctions beginning at 7:00 PM. Spearheaded by United Country Great West, the auction component promises an exciting range of items and experiences, all generously donated to help raise funds for the cause. Four Diamond Events will assist with hosting and coordination throughout the evening, helping ensure the unique event flows smoothly and memorably from start to finish.
In addition to dinner and the auctions, guests will enjoy door prizes, all‑night local entertainment, and a cash bar. Seating is strictly limited to 314 guests, matching the symbolic size of the dining table and underscoring the exclusivity of this one‑of‑a‑kind experience.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under and can be purchased online at www.konyha.ca by selecting the History Will Be Made tab. All proceeds from the auction activities will go directly to Noelle’s Gift to Children, helping ensure local children have access to essential items including nutrition, clothing, educational supplies, and emergency support.
Reflecting on the spirit of the event, Elish Smith, Co‑Chair of the Chatham-Kent chapter of Noelle’s Gift to Children, shared:
“When we met with the organizers of this event, we knew right away this was going to be something very fun and different for CK. An awesome way for people to get together, attempt a Guinness world record, all while raising money for a great cause.”
With its blend of community connection, agricultural celebration, culinary excellence, and charitable purpose, History Will Be Made promises to stand as one of Chatham-Kent’s most memorable events of the year.
