Join us for a fun in-person stroll through the charming village of Haughton-le-Skerne. Discover fascinating stories and hidden gems from the area's past as we explore together. Perfect for history buffs and casual wanderers alike – come along, bring your curiosity, and enjoy some fresh air with great company!

Event organised by The Haughton Christmas Lights.

Minimum £5 donation per person - cash only, payable on the day please.

PARKING - please do not park in Salters Lane, near St. Andrew's church, use the parking by Haughton Working Men's Club.

Local historian Chris Lloyd, invited by Chris McEwan and with massive input from Carol Atkinson, will guide us around the area using stories from Carol’s book and uncover some of Haughton’s hidden past.
Along the way we’ll explore:
• The oldest church in Darlington
• Le Mesurier and the Cheese Affair
• The War Memorial
• The Methodist Chapel
• The River Skerne – original course
And many other fascinating local stories!
Meeting Point: St Andrew’s Church
The church will be open from 9:50am, so feel free to arrive early.
