History on Tap Dinner at the 1886 Frederick and Mary Beissner House

Great food has graced these tables before, but never quite like this as Galveston Historical Foundation’s 52nd annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour offers select seats to this special History on Tap dinner. ABOUT THE 1886 FREDERICK AND MARY BEISSNER HOUSE | English architect William Herbert Roystone (1856-1922) designed this elaborate Queen Anne house for cotton clerk Frederick Beissner and his wife, Mary. The building features a diagonally set front entrance gallery, imbricated shingles and lavish trim in a sunflower motif that reoccurs in the cross-gabled roof. Roystone worked in Galveston 1886-1890 and was briefly associated with the office of Nicholas Clayton. Located in the East End Historic District, the Texas Historical Commission designated the Beissner house a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1990.
