History of the U.S. Mint

Join us as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with a special program highlighting the history of the United States Mint and American coins! Presented jointly by the United States Mint and the Cherokee County Coin Club, this approximately one-hour program will feature interesting coin displays and information about the coins we use every day. A junior member of the Cherokee County Coin Club will be dressed as George Washington to welcome guests at the door! The first 150 guests will receive a patriotic gift bag containing four circulating U.S. coins: Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, and Washington Quarter.
