Learn an important piece of South Carolina Black History through the lens of America's Game. “Scott Busch is a baseball historian from Greer, SC. He is also a graduate of Gardner-Webb University. Scott is the founder of the Out of the Shadows Project. This project brings awareness to baseball players & teams that have largely been forgotten about throughout history. Through this project, Scott has been able to get those teams & players recognized and honored in many different ways. They have been inducted into their state Hall of Fames; had historical markers awarded in their honor; and recognized & celebrated at minor league baseball games. Over the past three years, He is also an advisor with many minor league baseball teams throughout the country. Scott has assisted these teams with their African American baseball/Negro League celebrations. He has also presented on black baseball history in South Carolina in many museum’s & libraries across the state. It is his hope to educate people on the great unknown history of our states black baseball stars and to bring their legacy out of the shadows.”
