Join the State Historic Sites at Springfield, Sangamon Valley Collection and the Illinois State Museum at the library for this new program that examines history through a filmmaker’s lens. In March, we will learn about the history of baseball and enjoy films featuring the game. Free and open to all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.
Two sessions will be offered on Wednesday, March 11, each featuring a different film:
1:00 PM - Learn about the origins of baseball and join us for a family friendly movie about a young baseball team working together to retrieve a famous baseball from the Beast (Rated PG)
5:00 PM - During WWII, women replaced men in the factories and on the baseball field, challenging society's expectations of women's role in sports. Join us for a film about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (Rated PG)
