Explore unique stories of American life in a 1920s Kansas town with our special History Highlights Tour Series – and this month’s theme is FEEDING AMERICA: 1920S TRUCK FARMING!
What is Truck Farming? Is it a farm that grows trucks? On this tour, you’ll find out! Explore the farming industry that fed Kansas City’s industrial revolution and sent food across America! Tour includes a deep-dive into the working farm garden and the ground–breaking (pun intended!) innovations that farmers used across eastern Kansas!
Tour starts August 8th promptly at 10:30am. Tour is included with General Museum Admission (admission rates can be found on www.ShawneeTown.org). FREE ADMISSION WITH A JOHNSON COUNTY LIBRARY CARD 10AM-12PM! Card sign-ups will also be available to all! Tours are designed for adults and kids 5th grade and higher. No RSVPs and space is first–come first–serve, so come early to claim your spot.
