Abraham Lincoln traveled to Leavenworth, Kansas in December 1859 while campaigning for presidency. While visiting downtown Leavenworth, Lincoln spoke to the masses about Kansas’s role in the Union and the issue of slavery. Join us as we learn about Lincoln’s one and only trip to Kansas. After the presentation visit the museum’s galleries to view the carriage that Lincoln rode in on his journey to Leavenworth.Bill Stumpff is retired and he and his wife travel and visit museums. They take their grandkids to as many museums as they can. He volunteers at the Combat Air Museum in Topeka, and is
one of three co-presidents of the Lincoln Club of Topeka.
Join us for light refreshments at 10:30 am followed by the presentation at 11:00 am.

The Fort Leavenworth Online Visitor Registration Portal is open for business. We are no longer issuing paper visitor passes. They are now all virtual. A “pass” will be attached to the visitor’s ID in our security scanning system. Visitors may still use our Visitor Center or the new online portal. Here are some tips for the system.

Fill in your personal information and visit details. You cannot register more than 10 days in advance. You’ll be notified via text message if your visitor pass is approved, or if you should go to the Visitor Center to request access. When you arrive at the gate, you must present the same driver’s license or passport you registered with online.
