You might remember Sioux City’s first schoolteacher, or the name of the area’s first settler, but do you know the date of the first Thanksgiving? Or who had the first electric lightbulb? How about the dramatic results of the first mayoral election? In this History at High Noon, come ring in the first month of 2025 with a look at many different “firsts” in Sioux City’s history, presented by Haley Aguirre. Part one of this series will cover Sioux City Firsts from approximately 1804-1868.
This free, photographic presentation is offered at the Sioux City Public Museum, and attendees are invited to bring their own lunches to enjoy during the presentation.
