Meet an armorer and a French Marine portrayed by dedicated Fort Ligonier reenactors Mike Kijowski and Kristin Rylander. Learn about French and Indian War weapons and why their maintenance was essential and what life was like for French soldiers.
Don’t miss a visit to the Museum’s History Gallery to see the Fog of War Exhibit, which features weapons from the Forbes Campaign.
History Alive! at Fort Ligonier is an engaging experience for visitors to learn more about the daily life of a frontier military outpost in North America during the 18th century. Through daily programming depicting typical activities of a military site such as soldiering, manual labor, tailoring, laundry, and cooking, and special weekend demonstrations from 18th century artisans, History Alive! portrays the people who fought and lived at Fort Ligonier during the Forbes Campaign of 1758.
This educational program is made possible by a #PreservingAmerica grant from Americana Corner.
History Alive! is included with Fort Ligonier’s regular admission fees.
