Meet our resident Military Engineer and see how forts are built! Learn about mapping out a fortification and the construction of defenses to repel attackers!Robert “Bob” Fryman, a retired college professor and former public-school teacher spent his career studying history and early cultures. He thoroughly enjoys and vividly shares his research and infectious love of the past with visitors through Fort Ligonier’s History Alive! programs.
History Alive! at Fort Ligonier is an engaging experience for visitors to learn more about the daily life of a frontier military outpost in North America during the 18th century. Through daily programming depicting typical activities of a military site such as soldiering, manual labor, tailoring, laundry, and cooking, and special weekend demonstrations from 18th century artisans, History Alive! portrays the people who fought and lived at Fort Ligonier during the Forbes Campaign of 1758.
This educational program is made possible by a #PreservingAmerica grant from Americana Corner.
