The final presentation in our 2026 speaker series will be Dr. Walter Zapotoczny, President of the 28th Infantry Division Association.
This presentation tells the story of the 28th Infantry Division's courageous stand during the opening days of the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. After suffering heavy losses in the Hürtgen Forest, the exhausted Keystone Division was assigned to what was believed to be a quiet sector along the Our River in Luxembourg. Instead, it found itself directly in the path of Hitler's final major offensive in the West.
