Historica.org seminar

This seminar will present the new and further developed web features of Historica.org.

Historica is a project that creates a digital model of human history, which is continuously expanded and refined with the aid of artificial intelligence. Historica integrates various types of data to reveal humanity’s past in all its temporal and geographical scope, unfathomable complexity, and infinite diversity. In its outward manifestation to the user, Historica is a dynamic, interactive map that visualizes the global development of civilization from ancient times to the present day.

At the seminar, we will demonstrate an AI-assisted interactive map showing the evolution of state borders from the 11th century CE, and explain the approach we use in historical map construction.

At this event, Rt Hon Charles Clarke, strand-leader for the Baltic Programme at the Centre for Geopolitics, will be in conversation with the project director Dr Alexander Tsikhilov and developer Mr Nikita Balabanov, a specialist in AI technologies and the chief technology leader of the Historica.org project.
