Join us on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, for our next Historical Society meeting featuring special guest speaker Michael Rose, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.Michael is an accomplished artist who works in a variety of traditional forms to recreate and preserve historic Native American artwork. He spent part of his early years attending White Settlement Elementary School and later built a career as a machinist. Michael also helps organize the Annual Powwow at the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum and is deeply involved in cultural preservation.
His talk, titled “The CHahta Experience,” will explore the history, heritage, and continued legacy of the Choctaw people.
✨ Michael will also be bringing samples of his artwork and other artifacts to share with attendees!
This is a unique opportunity to hear firsthand stories and insights, and to see meaningful cultural art up close.
