About this Event

Bill Bryson’s "One Summer: America, 1927" is an enjoyable book that tells us stories about celebrity culture, technology, politics, race, crime, economics, and everyday life. Some stories are familiar, such as Charles Lindbergh's non-stop flight from New York to Paris. Some give us a new perspective, like the Great Mississippi flood that accelerated Black Americans' migration from the rural South to Northern cities like Chicago.

How have Americans evolved? What traits seem timeless? Let's talk about it!
