Historical Marker Unveiling Honoring Henry G. Andrews

Join us for a powerful and historic gathering as we unveil a memorial marker honoring the life and legacy of Henry G. Andrews, who was unjustly lynched in Warren County, North Carolina.
We can not tell the story of Henry Andrews without acknowledging the bravery of the sole witness to this atrocity, Isaac Mayo. Two months after Henry's M**der, after giving his witness testimony, Isaac Mayo was found deceased on the railroad track with evidence of being shot.

This special ceremony is being held in observance of North Carolina’s 3rd Annual Anti-Lynching Awareness Month, a time dedicated to truth-telling, remembrance, healing, and justice for victims and families impacted by racial terror violence.

Together, we will honor Henry G. Andrews through reflection, prayer, family remembrances, historical acknowledgment, music, and the unveiling of a historical marker memorializing his life and legacy.

This event will feature remarks from descendants, community leaders, clergy, historians, and representatives connected to this important work of restorative justice and remembrance.
