Contra dancing is moderately aerobic and highly addictive. It’s a lively, social, swingy dance style from the USA. Done to simple walking steps, it features flowing movements, swings and twirls, and a chance to dance with everyone in the room.
However, this time, as it falls at the end of our Derwent Regency Festival, we'll be enjoying some historical and historically themed contra dances. They're still great fun, and we still have the same fine band.
Tickets: $7-15 at https://events.humanitix.com/derwentregencyfestival25, https://folktas.org/monday or at the door.
All dances taught.
No dancing experience or partner required.
All ages and identities welcome.
