Historic Soldiers Weekend
About this Event
Come to Fort Mott for Historic Soldiers Weekend! Over 100 reenactors will be encamped along Fort Mott’s Willow and Battery Lane, representing military personel through out time and across the globe from Ancient Greece to the Cold War.
This event is 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Sept 26 and 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, Sept 27.
Planned activities include demostrations by the river, a WWII USO show on the porch of the Guard House, and guest speakers. If you have never been inside Fort Mott’s buildings before, be sure to not miss the chance to climb to the top of the observation tower, walk through Post Headquarters, or see the displays in the museum!
This free, family friendly, living history event at Fort Mott State Park is mostly outdoors. Come prepared for the weather and lots of walking.
Historic Soldiers Weekend is also the last weekend of the year for regular ferry service to Fort Delaware (on Pea Patch Island) and Delaware City. Boats leave at 9: 30 am and 1 pm. Call 302-834-7941 for ferry information and tickets.
